The Union Pacific Railroad is celebrating it's 150th year anniversary. We had a big celebration and Papa and Grammy Smith, Auntie Lora and Lucy's cousins Austin, Alex and Alyssa all came. We rode a passenger train from Mankato to Lake Crystal and back.

Lucy loves tinkering with things like her dad. She just got a new bike and of course we had to put it up on the motorcycle lift to make sure everything checked out.

She also helps daddy with the truck. She named it Annie.

Week in recap.

Busy, busy this last week. From sleepovers with cousins to parades with cousins. Then Lucy took in Mason Jennings for a late night jam and dance. She sure had fun. Maybe it wore her out, cause the last few days she has had croup. Didn't phase her much as she went on her favorite ride last night.

Kind of like the Tooth Fairy....

Ever since her cousins Pascal and Nora were here over Christmas, Lucy has kind of been obsessed with loosing teeth. She always has one "loose".

One night she put a Tooth Fairy box under her pillow. I asked her what was inside. "My tooth daddy." "Ok", I  said, and off to bed we went.

The next morning Lucy checked her Tooth Fairy box. Inside was a note:

Dear Lucy,

The Tooth Fairy is very busy visiting kids who have truly lost their tooth. It usually happens around age 5 or 6. Don't worry, you will get there soon. Kids your age are working on pooping.

You have been doing a great job, so keep it up and I will leave you a special surprise under your bed. Keep pooping in the potty though and do not put the poop under your pillow.

Kayaking

Last Friday we went on a happy hour paddle with Bent River Outfitter. It was a great time. We met at their shop and they drove us and kayak up the Blue Earth River a little and we paddled back down to Riverfront Park. There was a good turnout of people. Bent River Outfitter does the happy hour paddle every other Friday, but you can rent a kayak from them anytime. They also have guides. I think Lucy and I will be doing much more kayaking this summer. She said she wants to take a longer trip and camp on a sandbar along the way.

Weird Face Wednesday

Lucy and I went out to dinner. It was after a long day of kayaking, sun and fun. I asked her to make a weird face and this is what we got.

The rose was from a rosebush we passed on the way to dinner.
