Restaurant Review: Olives in Mankato

Lucy and I went on a daughter and daddy date. Rapunzel dolly came with us too. I was the king, Lucy was the queen and Rapunzel was the princess. We went walking downtown Mankato looking for somewhere new that we have never been. We ended up at Olives.

The server Abby played along with us and kept calling Lucy the queen. Thursdays are pasta night and they have great deals. I tried the Dragon and the Phoenix. Chicken, prawns and curry. It was awesome. Lucy had some chicken strips. Fancy I know. She enjoyed them. I thought they tasted really good.

They have a great selection of different desserts. We tried the chocolate mousse. It was good, but had a slight alcohol taste which after one bite, Lucy did not care for. So we then tried a chocolate and peanut butter cake. That was very good, very rich, so we brought it home.

All in all, it is a great place to bring kids if you want a great meal. It is more for adults, but Lucy behaved herself  as I played up the role of a queen as very proper and always sat up straight in her throne. The prices are on the higher end, but well worth it. Look for daily specials. My meal would have been $17, but on Thursdays all pasta dishes are $11. Kids meals are $4.99.WeI even have leftovers for lunch today!
